Despite playing with 10 men after defender Malick Thiaw was sent off in the first half, Juventus came away with a 1-0 win at AC Milan on Sunday in Serie A thanks to a goal from Manuel Locatelli in the second half.

Five minutes before halftime, a match that had been relatively leisurely took an unexpected turn when Thiaw was sent off for a last-man foul on Moise Kean.

Locatelli scored in the 63rd minute with a deflected long-range drive off Rade Krunic, catching Milan custodian Antonio Mirante off guard and giving Juve the lead.

After nine games, Juve dropped to third place with 20 points, while Milan moved up to second with 21 points, just a point behind leaders Inter Milan.
