The veteran cricket players Jahanara Alam and Rumana Ahmed were not selected for the Bangladesh women’s national team’s preliminary selection for the impending home series against India the following month.
As the Bangladesh Cricket Board revealed the 20-member team, another experienced player named Salma Khatun makes a return to the side after being dropped from the side for the last Sri Lanka series.
In addition to playing a three-match ODI series as a part of the ICC Women’s Championship, Bangladesh will take part in the three-match T20I series that is slated to begin on July 9. The visitors will also participate in the three-match T20I series.
After the pacer went through a rough stretch in the most recent series against Sri Lanka, the newly appointed selectors Sazzad Ahmed Shipon and Sajal Chowdhury made the decision to bench Jahanara. On the other side, Rumana continued to perform poorly and was eliminated from the most recent Sri Lanka series as a result.
