India chose three captains for their upcoming eight-match multi-format tour of South Africa, with Rohit Sharma guiding the two Tests, Suryakumar Yadav leading the T20s, and KL Rahul leading the ODIs.

The visit, which begins on December 10 with a T20 in Durban and runs until January 7, will feature three T20Is, three ODIs, and two Tests, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The BCCI said that Rohit and Virat Kohli had requested a break from the white-ball phase of the trip.

However, it stated that Mohammed Shami was getting medical treatment and that his availability was contingent on his fitness.
