At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday, India won the second one-day international (ODI) by a score of 108 runs to even the three-game series at 1-1.
India reached 228 for eight in their allotted 50 overs, which proved to be an impossible mark for Bangladesh, who were bowled out for only 120 runs in their allotted number of overs.
While Bangladesh continued losing wickets at regular intervals, the highest scorer was Fargana Hoque with 47, while Ritu Moni contributed 27 runs to the total.
Player-of-the-match After scoring a team-high 86 runs off 78 balls for India, Jemimah Rodrigues then took four wickets for the away side. Devika Vaidya was successful in taking three wickets.
Earlier, the captain of Bangladesh, Nigar Sultana Joty, made the decision to bowl first. At one point in the match, the home team took three fast wickets, which brought India’s score down to 68 for three.
Then, Harmanpreet Kaur, who was captaining the team, and Jemimah scored 73 runs for the fourth wicket, which set the stage for a significant final score.
Jemimah went on to reach her best individual score in one-day international cricket before being removed by left-arm spinner Nahid Akhter, who picked up two wickets for Bangladesh. This occurred despite the fact that Harmanpreet was forced to quit due to an injury.
Later on, Harmanpreet came back to bat and scored 52 runs off 88 deliveries. Harleen Deol also contributed to India’s total, scoring 25 runs, as the country added 39 runs in the last five overs of their innings.
Saturday is the day that will host the third and final game of the series.
