Three significant American cities—Dallas, Miami, and New York—have been approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024.

The USA has been selected to host the T20 World Cup for the first time. The sites for the historic tournament are Grand Prairie in Dallas, Broward County in Florida, and Nassau County in New York.

When the ICC Board granted the USA and West Indies the hosting rights back in November 2021, they were chosen as the world tournament’s co-hosts. The locations were selected after a thorough analysis of several possibilities.

Facilities for the forthcoming event will be expanded via the use of modular stadium systems. After the necessary permission is granted next month, plans are underway to build a 34,000-seat modular stadium at Eisenhower complex, a sports and events complex located in Nassau County, New York.
Modular stadium solutions will enhance Grand Prairie and Broward County’s seating, media, and premium hospitality sections, contingent upon a final agreement.

With great pleasure, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice revealed the locations for the largest-ever T20 World Cup.

“We are excited to reveal the three USA locations that will play home to a portion of the largest-ever ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will feature 20 teams vying for the championship. These locations provide us a fantastic chance to stand out in the largest sports market in the world, and the USA is a strategically significant market.”

He continued by saying that Americans were becoming more aware of cricket’s enormous fan base and capacity to bring disparate populations together.

We looked at a variety of possible locations throughout the nation, and we were very inspired by the excitement the event created amongst possible hosts, highlighting the rising awareness of cricket’s enormous fan base and its ability to bring people from all backgrounds together.

“We are thrilled about the chance to showcase elite cricket in a venue that hasn’t held an ICC global event before, providing American cricket fans with the chance to watch the best in the world right outside their front door. We plan to do this by utilizing modular stadium technology.”

“This technology is widely used in other major sports around the world and has been used to increase venue capacity at previous ICC events.” In the United States, it will allow us to expand the capacities of the venues in Dallas and Florida and build what promises to be an incredible arena in New York.”

“One of the most well-liked athletic events in the world, the Men’s T20 World Cup, is coming to Nassau County in collaboration with the ICC. This event will bring spectators to Eisenhower Park from all over the globe, since it has over a billion admirers globally.

We are used to holding major international events, whether they are PGA tournaments, world-record concerts in our parks, or the yearly Belmont Stakes. I am excited to unite our many and varied communities to see some of the world’s top cricket matches, held in Nassau County.”

Pre-event matches and training have been discovered at a number of additional possible locations. Among these is George Mason University in Washington, which serves as the home field for the Washington Freedom Major League Cricket (MLC) franchise.
