On Saturday, Germany overcame France 4-3 on penalties after the game finished 2-2 at full-time at the Stadion Manahan in Indonesia.
The victory awarded Germany their first U-17 crown.
Germany seized the lead from the penalty spot in the 29th minute thanks to striker Paris Brunner. They extended their lead shortly after the break when Noah Darvich pounced on the ball at the far post and scored from a tight angle.
France, on the other hand, replied immediately, with midfielder Samon Nadélia Bouabré cutting in from the left and scoring.
France’s fortunes improved when Germany midfielder Winners Mark Osawe was sent off in the 69th minute. Mathis Amougou equalised five minutes from time to force a penalty shootout.
Germany had advanced to the final after defeating Argentina 4-3 on penalties in the semifinals.
