At today’s IPL auction in Dubai, Chennai Super Kings, an IPL team, acquired Bangladeshi paceman Mustafizur Rahman for a base price of INR 2 crore.
Rachin Ravindra for INR 1.8 crore and New Zealanders Daryll Mitchell for 14 crore INR were already signed by CSK as part of the proposal.
Fizz, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam of Bangladesh were scheduled to be executed, but the BCB chose to only grant Mustafizur’s NoC, while Taskin and Shoriful were declined because of their national team commitments with the T20 World Cup taking place immediately after the IPL.
MS Dhoni’s CSK, who also paid INR 5.80 crores to sign Shardul Thakur, will field Mustafizur.
Fizz spent the previous two seasons as a player with the Delhi Capitals. He previously won an IPL championship in 2016 with Sunrisers Hyderabad.
