Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh has been given permission to participate in the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) with no objections, while fellow pacers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam have been refused entry into the most popular franchise-based Twenty20 competition.
While Bangladesh is poised to host Sri Lanka in March for two Tests, three ODIs, and as many T20Is, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is planned to run from March 22 until the end of May. Zimbabwe will visit Bangladesh later in April and May for two Test matches and five Twenty20 Internationals.
Taskin and Shoriful will not receive NOC due to our national missions. There are two series in a row, followed by the [T20] World Cup. It indicates that we have duties from March to nearly June,” Jalal Yunus, chairman of cricket operations, said to The Daily Star on Monday.
Meanwhile, Mustafizur received a NOC for the period of March 22 to May 11. While Taskin and Shoriful were priced at INR 75 lakh and INR 50 lakh, respectively, the Fizz has a basic price of INR 2 crore.On Tuesday, the IPL 2024 auction will take place in Dubai.
