The Turkish club Fenerbahce announced on Thursday that striker Edin Dzeko has signed with them after completing a free transfer from Inter Milan.
The 37-year-old player, who was a part of Inter’s team that lost to Manchester City in the Champions League final earlier this month, has agreed to terms with the Istanbul-based club for a period of two years.
On June 30th, his employment with Inter will come to an end.
Dzeko moved to Inter from AS Roma in 2021 and has played 101 games since then, scoring 31 goals and won two Coppa Italia championships as well as the Italian Super Cup. His club career ended with him having scored more than 300 goals and winning both the Premier League and the Bundesliga with Man City and Wolfsburg respectively.
The international player for Bosnia and Herzegovina is also his country’s all-time leading goalscorer with 64 goals in 129 total matches played.
Dzeko stated on Instagram, “Goodbye Inter, it’s been two wonderful years,” after his departure from the club. “This has been one incredible adventure after another. We’re going to have to split ways now, but I wanted to thank you for everything.
In the previous campaign of the Super Lig, Fenerbahce came in second place behind Galatasaray. 2014 was the year that they most recently won the league title.
