Everyone needs to be fit before world cup, says shakib0

Afghanistan and Bangladesh are going to play the first of two T20Is starting tomorrow. But since the ICC ODI World Cup is coming up, it was normal for Bangladesh Test and T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan to talk about it in today’s press conference before the game.

Shakib thinks that the Bangladesh team has a lot of people who can help, but he also stressed that ability alone won’t get the job done in a tough situation like the World Cup if the team’s health isn’t emphasized.

Shakib told reporters in Sylhet on Thursday, “If we want to do well in the World Cup, I think all 15 to 20 members of the team need to be in shape, not just the fast bowlers.”

“It’s clear that it’s a good sign that both of our bowling teams are strong and that everyone helps. If everyone on the team, including hitters, fast bowlers, and spinners, can help, it’s easy to come up with a plan to beat them.

“Nowadays, teams don’t want to set up a spin track or even a pitch that helps the faster horses, which I think is a huge advantage for us.”

Cricketers all over the world have to work harder than ever to stay fit because their schedules are getting busier and busier. Usually, the quicks are the ones who get hurt the most and have to make up for it in their exercise routine. But the recent success of the Tigers’ fast bowlers has given the team’s leaders the freedom to solve the problem by putting out different teams depending on the conditions. Shakib, however, thinks that the change policy may not be enough because there aren’t enough fast bowlers.

“Rotation policy is important, but I won’t say that we have a lot of choices in our fast bowling unit.

“If two bowlers get hurt, you might think that we don’t have enough. So it’s important for our four-five pacers to stay healthy and play well at the ODI World Cup in 2023,” said the 36-year-old.
