Ben Stokes, the captain of England’s test team, and Jofra Archer, the fast bowler, will have ample opportunity to demonstrate their fitness before to the Twenty20 World Cup in 2019.
Archer has been plagued by a string of injuries, while all-rounder Stokes, 32, underwent knee surgery last month.
“Ben, aside from his incredible match-winning ability in every department, gives us that ability to have a seam bowler in your top six that gives you so many options with your team balance,” Mott stated.
“Jofra has unmatched box office pace, the ability to shift pace, and the ability to bowl any over during an innings. When the time comes, bowl your Super Over and your final over. Everyone would agree that he is big on the park.”
Later on Thursday, the winner of a five-game T20 series between West Indies and England—the defending World Cup champions—will play.
