Nazmul Hassan Papon, president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), said he wants to finish his present term before being sworn in as Minister of Youth and Sports in Bangabhaban on Thursday.
Papon was originally chosen as BCB CEO in 2012 and has held the position ever since. The 63-year-old was re-elected as BCB president for a third time in October 2021.
“First and foremost, they are unrelated (Papon remaining as BCB president after being appointed as a minister). We’ve had a number of pastors serve as BCB presidents in the past. There are many more in other countries. “This isn’t the issue,” he said.
“I wanted to finish it this term, which ends next year.” I’ll attempt to finish it this year. There are several laws and regulations in place at the ICC. I serve on many ICC committees and am even the chairman of one. “Those rules are not changed,” he said.
