Manchester United’s Eric Bailly, a defender, has permanently transferred to Besiktas in Turkey, the Premier League team announced on Tuesday.
The Ivory Coast international played in 17 league games while on loan with Olympique Marseille during the previous season, helping them to a third-place finish.
After joining United from Villarreal in 2016, the 29-year-old center defender has made over 100 appearances for the team, although injuries have reduced his playing time in recent seasons.
With 49 caps for his country, Bailly was a member of the United side that placed second in 2020–21 and won the Europa League in 2016–2017.
After three games this season, Besiktas, which placed third in the Super Lig the previous season, is now fourth in the rankings.
