Cwab leadership unchanged0

Naimur Rahman Durjoy and Debabrata Paul will continue to lead the Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) for the next four years after no other candidates contested their positions at the Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh’s (CWAB) first Annual General Meeting (AGM) in ten years, which took place on Saturday at the BCB headquarters in Mirpur.

It has been decided that Naimur will remain in his role as president of the association, and that Debabrata will take on the role of general secretary.

“No one is prepared to accept responsibility for their actions. Nobody wants to take charge of the situation. After the meeting, BCB director Mahbub Anam, who also served as an election commissioner, expressed his disappointment with the situation by saying, “It is unfortunate.”

During the players’ protest in 2019, senior cricketers including Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, and Mahmudullah Riyad were missing, which raised questions from a variety of different sectors. Shakib Al Hasan was also one of the players who had called for a change in the leadership of the CWAB.

On the other hand, it was discovered that a small number of female cricket players will be included in the committee, the announcement of which is anticipated to take place within the next two months.
