Nice defeated Toulouse 1-0 on Sunday to maintain their eighth straight clean sheet, keeping the Riviera team competitive with Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.
After thrashing Monaco 5-2 on Friday, Paris now leads Nice and Monaco with 30 points after 13 games.
In Ligue 1, goalkeeper Marcin Bulka has not given up a goal in 723 minutes, or more than eight games.
Nice has broken the record of 12 games held by Bordeaux since the 1984–85 season by winning all 13 of their Ligue 1 games this season without falling behind.
Furthermore, they have only scored 14 goals this season, far less than PSG’s 34, while only giving up a pitiful four goals all season.
“Our defence is our main strength,” Nice head coach Francesco Farioli stated.
“We arent interested in statistics, but it’s nice racking up the points,” he stated.
Terem Moffi, an Allianz Riviera striker, scored the game’s lone goal on Sunday at Nice’s magnificent stadium with a straightforward tap-in after Morgan Sanson set him up. It was Moffi’s fourth goal of the Ligue 1 season.
Later on Sunday, in dire need of points as they now sit at the bottom of Ligue 1 with seven points from 11 games, struggling giants Lyon play Lille.
With a 3-0 victory over Clermont on Saturday, Lens increased their Ligue 1 winning streak to eight games. They will now focus on Wednesday’s Champions League showdown at Arsenal.
Marseille’s winless streak in league games grew to four following a 1-1 draw with Strasbourg.
Jonathan Clauss tied the score before the half-hour mark, but Emanuel Emegha gave the home team the early advantage.
Though they are now 16 points behind leaders Paris Saint-Germain in ninth place in the standings, Gennaro Gattuso’s team was unable to secure a victory.
