Saturday at the London Stadium saw Manchester City come back from a goal down to defeat West Ham United 3-1 and reclaim the top spot in the Premier League standings thanks to goals from Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland in the second half.
Liverpool had risen to the top after defeating Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1, but City came back strongly in the second half of an intense match to claim the three points.
West Ham finally broke through in the 36th minute when James Ward-Prowse’s diving header from Vladimir Coufal’s chipped cross to the far post gave the team the lead after they had been under intense siege.
After Doku equalized 43 seconds into the second half by darting dangerously toward Coufal and scoring, City went back to the top with 15 points, two more than Liverpool, with to goals from Silva and Haaland in the 76th and 86th minutes.
