City now the favourites0

Erling Haaland broke the record for most goals scored in a 38-game Premier League season with his goal in Manchester City’s win over Arsenal. He now has 33 goals and needs two more to break the joint record held by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer of 34 goals in a 42-game season. Haaland has scored a total of 49 goals in all competitions this season.

Arsenal was in control of the Premier League title race until they had to go to Manchester and beat Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium to maintain that control.

Despite it being a simple task on paper, it was difficult to achieve in reality, as shown by how Manchester City defeated Arsenal 4-1 to reduce the point difference to just two, despite playing two fewer games than their opponents.

City only needs to win six of their final seven games to secure their fifth Premier League title in six seasons, as long as Arsenal doesn’t lose any more points.

If Guardiola’s team wins five games and draws two in their last seven, they will be able to win the Premier League title because of their better goal difference.

Arsenal can no longer control their fate and must win all of their remaining games while also relying on Manchester City to lose two games or draw three.

Arsenal must win all of their remaining five games to avoid losing points. Their recent four-game winless streak means they need to perform at their best, especially against difficult opponents like Chelsea and Brighton. Brighton will play both Arsenal and Manchester City, and Arsenal can hope for them to cause an upset as Brighton has the potential to do so.

City will be playing away matches against Fulham, Brentford, Brighton, and Everton, and will host West Ham United, Leeds United, and Chelsea. It appears that City will not face any major obstacles in their quest for the top spot.

Arsenal can take comfort in the fact that the Premier League often remains undecided until the very end, and that Manchester City faces a challenging schedule with their upcoming Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid. However, City’s deep and talented squad, including striker Erling Haaland with 49 goals across all competitions, allows them to rotate players without losing momentum.

Arsenal needs to concentrate on winning their remaining five games and trust that if they deserve success, it will come to them. They should not worry about what Man City does.
