Golam Rabbani Choton, a former head coach for the Bangladesh women’s football team, recently taken charge of the Bangladesh Army women’s football squad for a period of two months.
The successful coach of the women’s squad resigned from his responsibilities with the Bangladesh Football Federation at the end of May. The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) acknowledged his departure today and extended its best wishes to its former coach.
The coach assumed command of the new squad on July 2 and remained in that role for the next two months. However, he assured the media that in the future he would be open to coaching either men’s or women’s teams.
In the meanwhile, the women’s national team is now preparing for two FIFA friendly against Nepal later this month under the direction of assistant coach Mahbubur Rahman Litu. It is expected that Paul Smalley, who serves as the technical director of the BFF, will return to the nation today. According to sources inside the BFF, a decision about a new head coach will be made after consulting with Smalley.
