Chetri nets from the spot as india beat bangladesh in asian games 0

In their second group A encounter at the Hangzhou Asian Games on Thursday, India defeated Bangladesh 1-0 thanks to a penalty kick made by striker Sunil Chetri in the 85th minute.

India bounced back from a 5-1 hammering at the hands of hosts China in their first match, but they had to fight hard to overcome a tough Bangladeshi team.

The guys in red and green have almost exited the competition after two straight defeats, but there is still a chance for them to advance. Their last group-stage match against China will be a difficult challenge. Bangladesh will remain eligible to qualify via the best third-place finishers positions if they win against the hosts.
