Romelu Lukaku, a Belgian international striker, will be loaned by Chelsea to Serie A team Roma, according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday.
Roma will pay the London club 5.8 million euros ($6.2 million), and the player will get a 7.5 million euro yearly wage, according to the Italian sports daily.
Lukaku is scheduled to go to Rome on Tuesday to have a medical, according to Gazzetta.
The Belgian will work with Jose Mourinho once again at Roma after working with him at Chelsea and Manchester United.
In 2021, Lukaku transferred from Inter Milan to Chelsea for 115 million euros. He joined Chelsea in 2011, departed in 2014 to join Everton, then transferred to Manchester United and Inter.
Lukaku, 30, scored 14 goals while on loan at Inter last season and in Italy.
Sardar Azmoun, a player from Iran, has previously been acquired by Roma on loan from Bayer Leverkusen, along with Leandro Paredes and Renato Sanches, two midfielders from Paris Saint-Germain who were also acquired on loan.
In June, Houssem Aouar made a five-year transfer from Lyon.
After the first two Serie A games, Roma has one point.
