According to Raheem Sterling, Chelsea’s players are having trouble figuring out why they are playing poorly this season, but he believes that with the right manager, the Premier League team can improve their situation.
Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Brentford has put them in 11th place in the standings, and they are in danger of having their worst season since 1993/94 when they finished in 14th place under Glenn Hoddle. Despite their new American owners spending a lot of money on players, the team is struggling.
Sterling expressed his disappointment and frustration with his team’s performance after a game, saying that there are times when he is left bewildered and unable to comprehend what just happened.
The situation is difficult to accept and the team is trying to find a positive way forward. They will discuss what happened and it’s a challenging process. Frank Lampard is currently leading Chelsea, but Mauricio Pochettino is the top candidate for the permanent manager position.
Sterling believes that it is important to focus on the future and find the right person to lead the team as the next manager. He was transferred to Chelsea from Manchester City for approximately £47.5 million in July.
Although I had a great time and won many trophies at my previous club, I wanted to take on a new challenge. Winning in my current situation would be more satisfying than winning consistently.
The talent in the team’s dressing room is unquestionable and if someone can lead them effectively, they can compete every year.
