Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, expressed that winning the Bundesliga is extremely important to him and his team. This comes after their 4-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt which helped them secure the top spot on the table.
If Dortmund won against Frankfurt, they could move ahead of Bayern Munich in the league standings since Bayern Munich lost to Mainz. There are still five more league matches left in the season.
Bellingham, who is 19 years old, scored the first goal for Dortmund in their decisive win. Two goals were also scored by Donyell Malen while Mats Hummels, a veteran player, scored one.
Since joining Dortmund at the age of 17 in 2017 from Birmingham, the English playmaker has won a German Cup.
Bellingham stated that it would be very significant to him, and it would mean a lot if it were to happen.
I don’t want to assume anything and discuss it too much, as there are still five difficult games ahead and I don’t want to feel like I’ve already won.
Winning the league with this club would be a huge achievement and I have a strong desire to do so, especially considering all that the club has done for me.
I am willing to put forth maximum effort to achieve that goal.
Dortmund’s last championship victory was during the 2011-12 season with Jurgen Klopp as coach, while Bayern has won the title every year for the past decade.
Bellingham, who is under contract until 2025, is being rumored to transfer to clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester City during the summer.
In 39 games this season, Bellingham has scored 11 goals and provided seven assists across all competitions.
