After the death of the four-time World Cup winning player and coach Mario Zagallo at the age of 92, his family announced that the burial would be place on Sunday.

According to a message shared on Zagallo’s Instagram account on Saturday—the day after he passed away—a memorial service honoring the “Old Wolf” will begin at 9:30 am (1230 GMT) at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) headquarters in Rio de Janeiro.

After that, the funeral will be followed by the burial in the Sao Joao Batista cemetery, where many renowned Brazilians are laid to rest.

In his eulogy after Zagallo, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva proclaimed him “one of the greatest football players and coaches of all time.”

“Courageous, passionate… (he) leaves a lesson of love, dedication and the will to overcome for our country and for world football,” Lula said on X, previously Twitter. Lula was referring to the Brazilian football star.

Following a string of health issues over the last several months, Zagallo passed away on Friday night in Rio’s Barra D’Or hospital from multiple organ failure. He had been a member of Brazil’s World Cup-winning squads in 1958 and 1962.

In addition to being an assistant coach for Brazil’s 1994 World Cup-winning squad and a beloved player in Brazil for his outrageous attitude and playing style, Zagallo coached the Pele-led 1970 World Cup team.

In his dual roles as player and coach, he achieved a World Cup first. The other two are Frenchman Didier Deschamps (1998 and 2018) and German Franz Beckenbauer (1974 and 1990).
