The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has extended the contract of incumbent head coach Javier Cabrera until December 2024.
Cabrera, 39, was named head coach of the national team in January 2022. In his debut year, he led the men in red and green to two wins and two draws in eight matches. He had to wait until his seventh encounter to win, when Bangladesh defeated Cambodia 1-0.
In his second year, the Spaniard led Bangladesh to five victories, two of which came in a remarkable 2023 SAFF Championships performance that saw the men in red and green reach the tournament’s semi-finals.
Cabrera won six games, drew nine, and lost nine in a total of 21 matches, for a win percentage of 28.57 percent.
