Bayern stage comeback in 2-2 draw with leipzig 0

Even though they scored twice in the second half, Bayern Munich were only able to salvage a 2-2 draw away at RB Leipzig on Saturday. As a result of the tie, the defending champions fell to third position in the Bundesliga standings.

Leroy Sane and Harry Kane scored goals in the second half to balance out the advantage that Leipzig had held after the first half, but the final result left Bayern in third place with 14 points, two points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen. Leipzig is now in fifth place, one point further behind, and will play home to Manchester City in the Champions League next week.

“Two very different halves from our perspective,” Bayern’s head coach Thomas Tuchel stated after the game. “In the first, we got off to a good start, but it was only for the first two minutes, and we blew a huge opportunity.”

When Jamal Musiala was sent through on goal by Kane in the third minute, the away team had a great opportunity to take the lead. However, the Germany international squandered his golden opportunity and had his shot from close range blocked by the custodian Janis Blaswich.

“We moved at too leisurely of a pace, committed far too many errors, and lacked the necessary amount of bravery. After the halftime break, we exhibited a new attitude, and we punched differently.

“It was a little bit crazy, with a lot of risk, but it is a positive result, not losing after being down 2-0.” Tuchel said that “we showed character.” The next week, Bayern will play their Champions League match in Copenhagen.

Leipzig, who had previously defeated Bayern 3-0 in the German Super Cup the previous month, scored twice in the span of six minutes, with Lois Openda giving them the lead in the 20th minute when he finished off a rapid burst.

Castello Lukeba scored another goal for Bayern after goalie Sven Ulreich made a mistake in judging a corner kick, allowing Lukeba to score from close range with a stabbing shot from the outside of the box.

Kane retained his composure to score his ninth goal in the league after Bayern was awarded a penalty for handball against the flow of play in the 57th minute. This goal helped reduce Bayern’s lead in half.

Only striker Erling Haaland, who now plays for Manchester City but once played for Borussia Dortmund, has managed to score more often in his first six games in the Bundesliga with nine goals.

In the seventieth minute, the Bavarians were able to complete their comeback after Kane won possession of the ball within his own half and Musiala set up Leroy Sane for the equaliser.

In the deepest part of stoppage time, Ulreich saved a point for Bayern by racing out of the penalty area to clear the ball before the onrushing Benjamin Sesko could score the winning goal.
