Bangladesh rallied back from a goal down to beat Bhutan 3-1 and seal their spot in the semifinals of the SAFF Championship on Wednesday in Bengaluru. Sheikh Morsalin and Rakib Hossain each scored a goal and Rakib Hossain assisted on another goal for Bangladesh.

The men wearing red and green advanced to the semifinals of the regional football competition for the first time in 14 years thanks to a 3-1 victory at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. This victory was quite similar to the one they had the other day against Maldives. They ended group B in second place, behind Lebabon, who had nine points and won the group. They had a total of six points.

On Saturday, the teams led by Javier Cabrera will face off against each other in the first semifinal, which will be followed later that day by a match between India and Lebanon in the second semifinal.

After Tsenda Dorji had given Bhutan the lead in the 12th minute with a screamer from beyond the box, Morsalin started Bangladesh’s resurgence with a stunning long-ranger in the 22nd minute. This came after Tsenda Dorji had given Bhutan the lead in the 12th minute.

Morsalin scored the third goal in Bangladesh’s 3-1 triumph against Maldives the other day. After that, Nima Wangdi came close to scoring, but Morsalin’s goal put Bangladesh on the path to their second victory out of the three matches they played in the group stage.

Rakib’s shot then hit Phuntsho Dorji and went into the back of the goal for Bhutan nine minutes later. Nine minutes after that, the striker for the Bashundhara Kings gave Bangladesh a 3-1 lead with a dazzling effort from an acute angle in the 36th minute of the contest after being set up by Morsalin.

Cabrera, who started the encounter with two changes from the previous match, removed Rakib and Abahani midfielder Sohel Rana out of the game at the beginning of the second half as a result of the fact that win was already certain for them.

Despite the fact that Bangladesh didn’t make much of an attempt in the attacking third during the lackluster second half, the Spaniard made three additional replacements, including bringing in center forward Aminur Rahman Sajeeb.
