Pakistan and Bangladesh played a three-match series. The second ODI was won by Bangladesh in an exciting Super Over finish at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
Bangladesh’s left-arm spinner Nahida Akter held Pakistan to just seven runs in the Super Over. However, boundaries from Sobhana Mostary and captain Nigar Sultana Joty helped them reach the goal, tying the series 1-1. The final game is set to take place at the same venue on Thursday.
Nigar’s 54 off of 104 balls and Fargana Hoque’s 44 off of 88 balls helped Bangladesh get to 169 for 9 in 50 overs.
Pakistan’s openers, Sadaf Shamas and Sidra Ameen, got off to a good start with a 41-run stand. However, off-spinner Nishita Akter Nishi and leggie Fahima Khatun quickly got rid of them.Rabeya Khan, one of Bangladesh’s three leg-spinners, got rid of three of Pakistan’s first five batters, including captain Nida Dar, who scored the most with 27 runs off of 47 balls. Nahida then got rid of one and one of the three run outs that followed to bowl out Pakistan for 169 runs and send the match to a Super Over.
