The first match of Bangladesh’s campaign in the One-Day International World Cup 2023 will take place on October 7 at Dharamsala, India, against Afghanistan.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Tuesday the schedule for the forthcoming major event, as well as the 10 locations where it will take place. The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 5 with a rematch of the 2019 final, which will see England vs New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India will kick off their campaign on October 8 against Australia, who have won the World Cup five times before. The match will take place in Chennai.On October 15, the match between India and Pakistan that everyone is looking forward to will take place in Ahmedabad.

The Cricket World Cup Super League has already determined the first eight teams that will compete in the showcase event, therefore there will be a total of ten teams competing. The last two berths will be decided after the conclusion of the qualifying round that will take place in Zimbabwe on July 9th.

In a round-robin tournament style, each team competes against the other nine teams, and the top four teams qualify for the knockout round and the semifinals.

Knockout Stages

The first semifinal will take place on Wednesday, November 15, in Mumbai, while the second semifinal will take place on Thursday, November 16, in Kolkata. Both semifinals will be hosted in India. There will be a reserve day for both of the semi-finals.

The Final will be held on November 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, while November 20 has been reserved as a rain date in case of inclement weather.

The three knockout matchups will all take place throughout the day and night, with the first match commencing at 16:00 (local time) in each case.

Tournament Venues

A total of ten locations, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata, will play host to the event.

In addition to Hyderabad, the cities of Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will play home to the warm-up matches that will take place from September 29 to October 3.
