In the one-off Test match that took place in Mirpur on Wednesday, the captain of Afghanistan’s team, Hashmatullah Shahidi, won the toss and instructed Bangladesh to bat first.
Afghanistan was victorious in the last meeting between these two sides in this format, which took place in Chattogram in 2019 and was a match that will not soon be forgotten.
It has been two years since the last time Afghanistan competed in a test match, whereas Bangladesh is now participating in their second test of the year. Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh’s regular captain, and Tamim Iqbal, the team’s one-day international captain, are both injured and will not play in this Test. Rashid Khan, perhaps the most talented player on Afghanistan’s roster, will not be playing in this match.
