In a press release issued on Monday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the selection of a 16-player squad for the women’s team’s upcoming One-Day International (ODI) series at home against Pakistan in Dhaka. The series will consist of three matches.
The veteran all-rounders Salma Khatun, Lata Mandal, and opener Sharmin Akter have been omitted from the squad. All three of these players participated in the team’s most recent bilateral ODI assignment, which was played against India at home in the month of July this year.
On the other hand, Salma and Sharmin have been put on the list of potential standbys for the series.
Sumaiya Akter and Nishita Akter Nishi are the two players who have recently been added to the One-Day International team.
The off-spinner Sultana Khatun has been included in the squad, but it remains to be seen whether or not she will really play.
The Tigresses defeated the same opponent in the last three-match Twenty20 series, winning the final match at Chattogram by a score of 2-1.
The one-day international series is a component of the ICC Women’s Championship, in which Bangladesh is presently ranked eighth out of ten nations.
The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur will play host to all three One-Day International matches.
The matches are scheduled for November 4, November 7, and November 10.
Nigar Sultana will serve as the captain of the Bangladesh squad, and Nahida Akter will serve as the vice captain. Other members of the Bangladesh squad include Fargana Hoque, Shamima Sultana, Sobhana Mostary, Ritu Moni, Shorna Akter, Fahima Khatun, Shanjida Akther Maghla, Rabeya, Marufa Akter, Disha Biswas, Murshida Khatun, Sumaiya Akter,
Salma Khatun, Shorifa Khatun, and Sharmin Akter Supta will be waiting for you.
