Carlo Ancelotti is suing his former employer Everton in the high court in London, heaping on the pain in the Blue areas of Merseyside after three major members of Everton’s board quit their posts with the Premier League on Monday and chairman Bill Kenwright is poised to leave his position soon.
According to the documents submitted with the court, the attorneys for Ancelotti filed their claim late on Friday night. The claim concerns “general commercial contracts and arrangements.”
After months of demonstrations by supporters against the club owner Farhad Moshiri for a lack of investment, the club’s Chief Executive Officer Denise Barrett-Baxendale, Chief Finance and Strategy Officer Grant Ingles, and director Graeme Sharp all left the organization earlier.
The exits sparked rumors in the media that an investment was on the horizon from MSP Sports Capital, which is located in New York.
After coming perilously close to being demoted for the second season in a row, Moshiri has been trying to get financial backing in order to construct a new stadium and improve the playing roster.
