Afif Hossain, a cricketer from Bangladesh, will be the third member of his country’s team to compete in the Global T20 League in Canada, after Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das.
Jalal Yunus, the chairman of the Cricket Operations committee for the Bangladesh Cricket Board, has stated that Afif has been granted a no objection certificate (NOC), and the player is planning to go for Canada on Sunday in order to take part in the league there.
Alongside Liton, Afif will play for the Surrey Jaguars this season. In the event that the team is unable to advance to the play-off round, the left-handed batter will only be allowed to participate in the remaining two group games.
However, Tigers’ Test and T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan, who played for Montreal Tigers in the Global T20 League, will depart for Sri Lanka today to take part in the Lankan Premier League. Shakib Al Hasan played for Montreal Tigers in the Global T20 League.
The next two matches for Surrey, which are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday, will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. Surrey is now ranked third in the points standings. The conclusion is slated to take place on August 6th.
After a fitness camp, which will begin tomorrow, the Bangladesh team’s skill camp for the next Asia Cup is scheduled to begin on August 8. The fitness camp will be followed by the skill camp on August 8.
Even though Afif and Liton won’t be able to attend the fitness camp together, it is anticipated that they will participate in the skill camp.
In the meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim and Taskin Ahmed will return to the camp after having participated in the Zim-Afro T10 League. They are scheduled to join the team. However, pacer Shoriful Islam and Shakib will join the camp later on since both cricketers will be participating in the Bangladesh Premier League.
Jaffna Kings have also brought on another young cricketer in the form of Towhid Hridoy for the LPL competition; however, the cricketer will only participate in the first three games of the competition.
