AC Milan, the football club that won a plethora of domestic and European trophies when Silvio Berlusconi was the owner, referred to him as “unforgettable” in an homage after the news of his death on Monday at the age of 86.

“I would want to thank you, Mr. President. “Always with us,” the club stated in a statement, adding that it was “grieving the passing of the unforgettable Silvio Berlusconi.”

“Tomorrow, we are going to dream of new objectives, we are going to set new difficulties, and we are going to pursue new successes. Which will symbolize the good, the strong, and the truth that resides within us, in all of us who shared this experience of linking our lives to a dream called Milan,” the statement added. “Which will represent the good, the strong, and the true that lies within us, in all of us who shared this journey.”

During Berlusconi’s tenure at Milan, which lasted from 1986 to 2017, the club won a total of 29 trophies, including five Champions Leagues and eight Italian league championships. Berlusconi’s reign ended in 2017.

Carlo Ancelotti, who played for AC Milan and won two Champions League championships in 1989 and 1990 and then coached the club to two more European victories in 2003 and 2007, led the tributes to the former club president. Carlo Ancelotti coached AC Milan to two more European victories in 2003 and 2007.

Ancelotti, who is the current manager of Real Madrid, tweeted, “Today’s sadness doesn’t erase the happy moments spent together,” accompanied with a picture of himself standing next to Berlusconi.

“There is an inexhaustible amount of thanks to the president, but above all to a guy who is sarcastic, loyal, clever, and true. This man was essential in my journey as a football player first, and then as a coach. Many thanks, Mr. President.

AC Monza, the club that Berlusconi and his long-standing business partner Adriano Galliani purchased in 2018 after he sold AC Milan, said that the former Italian prime minister’s passing left an unfillable void in the organization.

“Adriano Galliani and AC Monza mourn the passing of president Silvio Berlusconi,” the club declared in a statement after Berlusconi’s passing.

“A void that can never be filled, for all time with us. Thank you very much, president, for everything.”

When Berlusconi bought Monza in 2018, the Italian football team was playing in the third division of the Italian league system.

Berlusconi promised to get Monza promoted to Serie A, and with Galliani’s assistance, the club, which is headquartered in the vicinity of Milan, made it all the way up to the top division for the first time in their history last year.

As a result of Monza’s 11th-place performance in the Italian Serie A this past season, the club has earned promotion to the top division for the next season.
