Wednesday was day three of the second match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan opener Abdullah Shafique produced his first Test double century, which placed the visitors in charge of the game.

In Colombo, Shafique took off his helmet and pointed to his name on the back of his jersey after reaching the score of 200 in the last session with a single off of Asitha Fernando. Shafique had begun the day with 87 runs on the board.

Since making his debut against Bangladesh in Chattogram in 2021, the 23-year-old batsman, who has already smashed 19 fours and four sixes in this innings, is now participating in his 14th Test match.

In response to Sri Lanka’s first innings score of 166, Pakistan had extended their advantage to more than 290 runs.
