Choton watches from the stands0

Golam Rabbani Choton used to be the head coach of the Bangladesh women’s football team. Yesterday in Kamalapur, they played a FIFA match against Nepal and tied 1-1.

The 54-year-old coach recently quit his job of ten and a half years because other people in the football league were getting in the way of his work. This made the team angry. Choton is the coach of the Bangladesh Army women’s team, but he watched the game from the general crowd instead of the VIP seats intended for coaches and club leaders.

Mahbubur Rahman Litu, Choton’s longtime assistant and the person in charge of the team for the time being, noticed that Choton was watching the game.

Litu said after the game, “I’ve been working with Choton bhai since 2009. He thinks of these players as his family.” We share something special. I’ve thought about him a lot today. I even tried to get in touch with him before the match, but he didn’t answer the phone.
