Consolation win for tigers0

With a victory by seven wickets in the third and final one-day international (ODI) against Afghanistan yesterday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium in Chattogram, Bangladesh were able to avoid being swept in the three-match series that was being played.

Shoriful Islam excelled with the ball, recording the best bowling statistics of his career with 4 for 21, and Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam each took two wickets. Shoriful Islam was the star of the show. The tourists were bowled out for their lowest score of 126 possible against Bangladesh because to the outstanding performance of Shakib Al Hasan, who finished with the dreadful figures of 13 for one from his 10 overs.

The hosts suffered an early loss of two wickets in the form of Naim Sheikh and Najmul Hossain, both of whom were dismissed by Fazalhaq Farooqi. However, captain Liton Das and Shakib were able to bring the Tigers back on track.

Towhid Hridoy was not out on 22 when they secured an easy victory in the end. Shakib was dismissed after scoring 39 runs at a run per ball, but he remained unbeaten on 53 runs after receiving sixty deliveries. This was his tenth half-century in this format.

Taskin, Shoriful, and Taijul have all made their way back into the Bangladeshi lineup after serving as substitutes previously. After Afghanistan elected to field first, the Tigers decided to take a bold approach in order to try to make a statement despite the fact that they had already been defeated in the series.

Afghanistan made the decision to bench their famous leg-spinner Rashid Khan, but Shoriful’s aggressive bowling up front prevented them from getting anything going with the bat.

In his second over, the left-arm seamer delivered a twin blow for Afghanistan, dismissing the previous match’s centurion Ibrahim Zadran for one with an edge to the keeper, and then proceeding to take the wicket of Rahmat Shah.

As the game progressed, he went on to select Mohammad Nabi and Abdul Rahman, which resulted in the visitors being bowled out for a low total.
