At the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday, Galle Titans suffered a 34-run defeat to B-Love Kandy in the second qualifier of the Lanka Premier League. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and batter Liton Das both struggled with the bat.
Opening batsman Liton managed a 19-ball 25, while Shakib struck a 15-ball 17 as Galle were held to 123 for eight in the pursuit of Kandy’s 158.
When Liton attempted to sweep in the fifth over, Chaturanga de Silva trapped him, while Shakib was killed in the twelfth over when he attempted a slog sweep against Sahan Arachchige.
However, Shakib made an economical effort with the ball, eliminating Arachchige while conceding 24 runs from his entire allotment.
