The English football giants Manchester United announced on Tuesday that Marcus Rashford has extended his current deal with the club to a further five years.

The England striker, who is 25 years old and whose last contract was slated to expire the following year, came up through the Old Trafford development program and has scored 123 goals in 359 games for the first team. His new contract will keep him at Manchester United until 2022.

“I joined Manchester United as a seven-year-old boy with a dream,” Rashford said in a statement released by the club.

When I have the privilege of wearing the jersey, I am still driven to achieve by the same passion, pride, and commitment.

“I’ve already had some amazing experiences at this incredible club, but there is still a lot more to achieve, and I remain relentlessly determined to win more trophies in the years ahead,” he said. “I’ve already had some amazing experiences.”

He continued, saying, “As a United fan for the entirety of my life, I am aware of the responsibility that comes with representing this badge, and I feel the highs and lows as much as anyone else.”

“I can guarantee that I will do everything in my power to assist the team in achieving the level of success that we are capable of, and I can sense the same level of determination permeating the locker room.”

“I couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds under the direction of this manager.”

Last year, Rashford scored 30 goals for the first time in his career for Manchester United, which helped the club break a trophy drought of six years by winning the League Cup. Erik ten Hag was the manager during that season.

John Murtough, the head of football operations at Manchester United, had the following to say on Marcus Rashford’s new contract, which will run out on June 30, 2028: Marcus has been a shining example of what it takes to become a successful Manchester United player ever since he first entered our youth program eighteen years ago.

“He is not only a gifted individual but also modest, diligent, and self-motivated.

“As he enters his prime years, we are aware that there is still a great deal more to come from him, and we can see the hunger that Marcus feels to achieve the highest levels of success here at Manchester United. We are excited to see what he has in store for us.”

Marcus will continue to develop into one of the finest offensive players in the world if he is given the opportunity to work with Erik ten Hag and his coaches, who provide the ideal atmosphere for such growth.
