India won the T20 series in Ireland. On Sunday in Dublin, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 58 and Rinku Singh’s powerful opening cameo helped the foreigners win by 33 runs.
After losing two wickets early on, Gaikwad and Sanju Samson put together 71 runs to help India reach 185-5.
But India got 42 runs in the last two overs thanks to Singh’s 38 runs off 21 balls and Shivam Dube’s 22 runs without getting out.
That made it hard for Ireland to win, but captain Andy Balbirnie scored 72 from 51 balls to give the home team some hope.
Balbirnie didn’t have much help, though, because India captain Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravi Bishnoi all took two wickets each.
Mark Adair scored 23 runs off of 15 balls, making him Ireland’s second-highest scorer. Ireland’s final score was 152-8.
On Wednesday, the teams will play the last game of the series.
